What exactly are challenge coins? A challenge coin is coin minted for a military unit, civilian organization, clubs, and individuals, bearing its organization’s insignia, given to members of that unit as a gift or token of appreciation to someone who earned it or bought it. They have become one of the hottest hobbies in collecting in the 21st century and the field gets larger everyday serving unique and special coins. Coins are special and each website, factory, and designer does their work different. One secret about 98% of the websites you find actually mint their coins overseas. They hide their shipping costs inside the per price so it looks like you are getting the coins from a U.S. mint (this looks more American). Also there is about 500 different overseas mints that produce these coins for people (another dirty secret they don’t want you to know). The difference is who has the best mint. We minted over 300,000 coins in 2007 and we are on schedule to do in excess of 1.5 million units in 2008 making us one of the largest makers that DOES NOT mint in the United States. Most places can’t afford the minting process in the U.S. due to tightening of EPA standards in smelting metal. We screwed ourselves (Americans) on cheaper prices so now China, Korea, Turkey, Taiwan, and other countries now get the work instead of an American (Which honestly is depressing). At least you can never say we are dishonest and hide how we do business. We are a transparent company and right up front on how we operate. After all, our goal is to make awesome coins at great prices. We use the #1 overseas mint to handle our jobs. We don’t just brag about…we will prove it in our end product. |
